The Tanushree Dutta vs Nana Patekar case doesn’t seem to settle so soon after the Bollywood actress has received 2 legal notices allegedly from Nana Patekar and Movie Director, Vivek Agnihotri. The actress confirmed the same to ANI and said, “I have been slapped with two legal notices today (October 3). One from Nana Patekar and another from Vivek Agnihotri. This is the price you pay for speaking out against harassment, humiliation, and injustice in India,” quoted ANI in a tweet. “Both their teams are on a smear campaign against me by constructing outright lies and misinformation on social media platforms and other public platforms,” quoted the news agency.

In a fresh legal hardship ascending for Dutta, a non-cognazable offence (NC) has been recorded against Dutta for her alleged remark on MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) chief, Raj Thackeray. An MNS unit president from Beed district of Maharashtra, Sumant Dhas, has filed a case against the ‘Ashiq Banaya Aapne’ actress allegedly for defaming Thackeray and his party. “We have registered a non-cognisable offence against Dutta under section 500 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating the complaint. We have also asked the complainant to approach court,” said a Police officer, quoted news agency PTI. The 34-year old Bollywood actress had allegedly accused MNS party “goons” for trying to physically attack her while she was leaving the studio in her car in 2008. A video of this incident was recorded and had played in the media in 2008 and is now making fresh rounds on social media relating to the issue claimed by Dutta. In an interview to a daily, Dutta said, “Raj Thackeray wanted to succeed late Bal Thackeray as Shiv Sena chief, but could not do so,” quoted PTI.

The actress further went to accuse MNS “Goons” of threatening her with a violent attack allegedly through an interview. “MNS party in an interview given to a leading daily has threatened me with a violent attack,” claimed Dutta to ANI. The actress was given with protection by the state administration as Maharashtra Home Minister, Deepak Kesarkar, confirmed the news. Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athavle, also advocated for justice to the actress. “Even though Nana is a good friend and a good actor, if he had sexually harassed Tanushree, I will not call him my friend and action should be taken against him,” said Athavle to a news agency.

The actress has accused Nana Patekar for “inappropriately touching” her during the shoot for a Bollywood movie ‘Horn Ok Pleasss!’ in 2008. The actress went ahead to accuse the movie Director, Vivek Agnihotri, for allegedly asking her to strip and dance before the camera. The actress had speculated legal notices to her in the matter and had urged Bar Council of India (BCI) to act against the lawyer, Rajendra Shirodkar, of Nana Patekar who had allegedly threatened her to face the legal proceedings for her claims.
