Mumbai: Samsung India proudly launched Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) and Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) in Mumbai’s St. Regis Hotel yesterday. In the presence of Company’s Sr. VP Mr. Asim Warsi, Media Professionals and other stakeholders, Samsung India launched these 2017 edition mid-range Galaxy A-series smartphones. With Battery capacity improved and Metal-and-glass design, it also flaunts some of the features of Samsung’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S7.


Samsung India’s Sr. VP Mr. Asim Warsi said, “At Samsung, we are always committed to innovate as per the need of our consumers to ensure that they have the most advanced and modern products in the market today”.


Samsung India has also tried to attract consumers who look for Water and Dust Resistant Smartphones. Samsung claims that Samsung Galaxy A7 and A5 (2017) are Water and Dust Resistant and that they are the first to have this feature along with always-on display at its price-point. The successors of Galaxy A7 (2016) and Galaxy A5 (2016) have been improved on storage capacities also. They support MicroSD cards upto 256GB for storage expansion and fast charging as well. The phones will be preferred by two segments of consumers. Galaxy A7 with 5.7 inches large screen will be preferred by consumers who love to play games or watch movies due to its large size. On the other hand, its brother Galaxy A5 has 5.2 inches screen and will be preferred by consumers who use their phones single handed. Talking about its finish, it surely gives the premium finishing and premium quality material made body. Let’s talk about these 2 newly launched smartphones in brief


Display & Design

Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A5 feature 5.7 inch display and 5.2 inch display respectively. The displays are full-HD and have AMOLED panels. They feature premium Aluminium frame and 3D curved glass back. It’s sleek & premium design inspired from its flagship smartphones, it also fuses the camera & home key perfectly with the body for giving the users a comfortable and easy experience. The speaker grilles are located on the right side of both the phones and 3.5mm audio jacks at the bottom of the phones.The capacitive navigation buttons located on either side and physical home button placed just below the screen.



Both the smartphones sport 16 megapixel rear and front camera with f/1.9 apertures. The 16 Megapixel rear camera comes with an LED flash.


SIM Slot & Battery

Both the smartphones are with dedicated Dual SIM slots and a separate MicroSD slot. Users can use Reliance Jio service in both the smartphones since they support 4G with VoLTE network. About the battery power, Galaxy A7 has a 3600mAh battery whereas Galaxy A5 packs a 3000mAh battery. Since the two 2017 edition Galaxy A-series smartphones support fast charging, they have Type C ports located at the bottom of the smartphones.



Both the smartphones support Android Marshmallow and are powered by Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC with the microprocessor speed of 1.9GHz coupled with 3GB RAM.



Both the smartphones have in-built storage capacity of 32GB which are expandable to 256GB memory. The users will also get free 15GB of cloud storage through its own Samsung Cloud App.



To buy a Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017), you will have to shell out INR 33,490 and INR 28,990 for Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017). Both the smartphones will be available offline and online from March 15 in India.

Overall, we liked the look & the feel and the features of Samsung Galaxy A5 & Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) and we believe its metal frames and glass rear panels are the key highlights of both the smartphones.
