Mumbai: The Japanese electronic brand, Panasonic, has launched Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 for the Indian consumers on Tuesday. The company has joined the bigger view display league by bringing in the 18:9 display smartphone at an affordable price of INR 8,999. The smartphone is available in Black, Gold and Blue variants, and will go for sale from April 5. Also, the smartphone is Flipkart exclusive. Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 packs a 5.7-inch HD+ (720x1440px) display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass protection. On the optics front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel sensor at the back with autofocus and an LED flash. At the front, the Japanese phone sports an 8-megapixel lens with an LED flash for enhancing the selfie experience in the low-light area.
The smartphone is powered by a Quad-Core MediaTek MT6737H SoC clocked at 1.3GHz Cortex-A53 with Mali-T720MP2 GPU. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and features 3GB RAM. Eluga Ray 550 features 32GB inbuilt storage capacity expandable to up to 64GB using a MicroSD card (dedicated slot). It is fuelled by a powerful 3,250mAh non-removable battery.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone features dual 4G VoLTE enabled SIM slots. The other connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio and Micro-USB 2.0. The sensors onboard are rear mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, proximity, digital compass and ambient light sensor. The smartphone weighs 152g and measures 152.5×73.3×8.5mm.
