1989 Kidnapping Case: Rubaiya Sayeed, Daughter of Former J&K CM Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, Identifies Yasin Malik & Others As Her Abductors

As a breaking news exploding with high intensity in the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) politics on Friday, July 15, Rubaiya Sayeed, daughter of late former J&K Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, identified the now in jail the J&K renowned separatist, Yasin Malik as her abductor in 1989.

Sayeed, who is one of the witnesses for the prosecution, in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Friday pointed at Malik when she was asked to identify her abductor of 1989. She also identified three other accused as her abductors.

To recall, the daughter of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was abducted in 1989 and reportedly released on the condition to release four jailed militant commanders when Mufti Muhammad was the then Home Minister in the 1989’s V.P. Singh government.

Noteworthy to mention that Malik is presently sentenced for life in the case of terror funding in which he consented his involvement in the case and admitted the charges levelled against him by the prosecution.
