Tata Motors is all set to officially unveil the highly-anticipated Punch micro SUV in the country on October 4, 2021, and that is when the carmaker will commence the pre-bookings for the SUV. The home-grown automaker recently confirmed this development through its social media platforms. However, select Tata Motors dealers across Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai are already accepting pre-bookings for the upcoming mini SUV for a token amount ranging between ₹ 5,000 to ₹ 11,000, which is refundable upon cancellation.

The automaker is expected to announce prices of the Punch mini-SUV in the coming weeks, probably around Diwali. It will be the first SUV from the Indian carmaker to be built on the ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture) developed under Impact 2.0 design language. Once launched, the micro SUV will be positioned below the Nexon subcompact SUV in the line-up. It will be available in four trim options – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. There will be three mono-tone and six dual-tone colour options to choose from.
The Tata Punch will come with a range of premium features such as projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED taillamps and beefy bumper, underbody and side cladding, faux roof rails and sporty alloy wheels. On the inside, it will get a dual-tone black and white paint scheme, a Harman-sourced touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multi-functional flat-bottom steering wheel, automatic climate control, engine start-stop button, fabric upholstery, and more. We also expect the top-spec model to get the iRA connected car tech.
The 2021 Tata Punch is likely to be powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, which also powers the Altroz. The mill is tuned to make 85 bhp and 113 Nm of power figures. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual as standard along with an optional AMT unit.
