The leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), Rakesh Tikait, on Sunday, Aug 29, condemned the lathicharge on protesting farmers in Haryana’s Karnal on Saturday, Aug 28, and termed the Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Karnal, Ayush Sinha, as a commander of ‘Sarkari Talibani’. He said on Sunday while addressing a gathering in Nuh, Haryana that the administrative officers who ordered breaking heads of farmers must be deployed at Naxal-affected areas rather than at the farmers’ protesting site.
“The officers who speak about cracking farmers’ heads should be posted in Naxal-affected areas. That IAS officer (Karnal SDM Ayush Sinha) is commander of ‘Sarkari Talibani'” said Tikait on Sunday, quoted by ANI. The farmers’ leader also said that while they are protesting against unacceptable 3 contentious Farms Acts, they have been called ‘Khalistani’, they call such officers as “Sarkari Talibanis”.

The farmers’ leader also said that while they are protesting against unacceptable 3 contentious Farms Acts, they have been called ‘Khalistani’, they call such officers as “Sarkari Talibanis”. The former Chief Minister of Haryana and Congress leader, Bhupinder Singh Hudda also reacted to the act of lathicharge by police force on farmers and suggested that any dispute must be resolved by talks and not by suppressing the peoples’ voice.
Any problem can be resolved by talks only, not by suppressing people's voices. There must be a high-level inquiry into whatever happened yesterday.
