Google to Warn Users for Unreliable Information on it’s Platform, Things to Know

Google plans to deploy a fact-checking learning mechanism to detect false or unauthentic news or information. However, since it's a learning algorithm, it may fail at times to detect the authenticity of the information displayed in the search results. In such a case, the search engine will warn the user about the possibility of the information being unauthentic or unreliable.

The search engine giant, Google, is enhancing its platform to help its users stay alert while relying on any data shown on it’s platform as a result of a search by a user. The company aims to safeguard the interest of its users who find any information on it’s platform and consider it to be true. By this step, the search engine giant aims to leverage it’s stand in the eyes of the users in providing authentic information on it’s search engine.

At present, social media giants like Twitter & Facebook are making their platforms fake-news proof to prevent any fake news mislead its users. Similarly, the news is prevalent at present that Google may soon deploy it’s advanced algorithms to warn its users whenever an unverified information is displayed in its result.

Google has confirmed that it has already rolled out the feature on it’s platform and many search results are already displaying the warnings, especially for the developing stories. However, it hasn’t been implemented in a completely fool-proof manner, which is why we need to wait to see the search engine curb the users from accessing any misleading information on it’s platform. This will definitely improve the quality of search results on it’s platform.
