The National Investigation Agency (NIA) knocked at the door of Shiv Sena leader and ex-cop Pradeep Sharma’s NGO, PS Foundation office on Wednesday, June 23. The central agency raided the Sena leader’s NGO office at Andheri MIDC, Mumbai on the night of Wednesday. The raid concluded after several hours, however, the outcome of the raid is still unknown to our sources.
The raid at the office of the former encounter specialist of Mumbai Police, Sharma, was made in order to carry out searches for ‘something’, the source added. However, the information about the material the central agency made the raid for and the material it found in its raid are still away from our reach.
The former encounter specialist of Mumbai Police, Pradeep Sharma, was recently arrested by the NIA on June 17 in connection with the recovery of the explosives laden SUV outside residence, Antillia, of Reliance Industries’ pioneer Mukesh Ambani in Feb 2021 and subsequent alleged murder of Mansukh Hiren, the owner of the SUV found outside Ambani’s residence in Mumbai. Sharma was arrested along with Satish Mothkuri and Manish Soni in the similar case. The three are in NIA custody till June 28.
The NIA has already arrested the prime accused Sachin Waze, former cop at Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Mumbai Police, who is under arrest for months now. The central agency has also arrested Sunil Mane, inspector of Mumbai Police Crime Branch in May 2021 for his involvement in the case.
It is said that Mansukh Hiren was allegedly killed at the behest of Sharma & Waze, an allegation which the central agency is still investigating thoroughly.
