While the country battles with the lethal Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the country is astonished by the everyday rising cases of violence against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in the aftermath of the just concluded West Bengal Assembly Elections. A number of videos shot by bystanders appeared on social media platforms showing mob lynching, looting, outraging modesty of women, torching BJP offices & houses of BJP activists.

The BJP National President reached West Bengal on Tuesday, May 4 to meet the families of those affected by the brazen attack allegedly by Trinamool Congress’ (TMC) unruly supporters. The BJP national president shared some glimpses of his meeting with several families of attacked BJP workers. Nadda was seen consoling the morale of the families of the victims’ of Bengal Violence.

“Met victim families of our Karyakartas who were targeted by the TMC post election in Gopalpur, West Bengal. In independent India, this much intolerance is unprecedented till date. I want to assure our Karyakartas of West Bengal that crores of BJP workers are with them.” said Nadda in his tweet on Tuesday. “Our Karyakartas have suffered tremendous violence carried out by TMC in Pratapnagar, Sonarpur, West Bengal. Intolerance thy name is Mamta. We will put all these things in front of the people & provide justice to every Karyakarta in a fair manner.” added the BJP National President in his subsequent tweet.

While the BJP assured of handling this matter in a “democratic manner”, there were many who sought action rather than words from BJP. We bring you some notable tweets from Twitterities who sought immediate action against Mamata Banerjee led TMC Government in West Bengal.

Another Twitterite recollected the action by former prime minister Indira Gandhi’s action of invoking Article 356 of Indian Constitution to impose president rule in the states during her reign as Prime Minister.

Then came some serious questions to BJP leadership.

On Tuesday, a petition was admitted in Supreme Court which seeks invoking of Article 356 in West Bengal which advocates for imposition of President Rule in West Bengal due to deteriorating “law and order situation”. The major section of the country is demanding imposition of President Rule in West Bengal as TMC allegedly carried out torturous violence on those opposing their ideology. The nation looks up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Supreme Court to impose President Rule in the violence witnessing West Bengal.
