BJP Leader suggests Govt. to Buy Animal Dung to Boost Organic Farming

The government must buy animal dung at a price from across the country to boost the organic farming in the country, suggested a Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), on Tuesday, Feb 23. The lawmaker was speaking in a Parliamentary Committee meeting on Agriculture on Tuesday and made this out-of-box suggestion.

“If the government starts buying animal dung all over the country, organic farming will get a tremendous boost and the government will also be able to control stray animals. The majority of members of the committee gave their consent on the suggestion presented by the BJP lawmaker,” said a Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture while speaking to ANI.

The Chhattisgarh government led by Congress party is running a scheme called Godhan Nyay Yojna. The scheme has a provision to buy cow dung at Rs. 2 per kilogram. The scheme was launched by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on July 21, 2020.
