A pharmacy student at Keesara district of Telangana who went missing on Feb 10 was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by an auto driver and his aides, Telangana police informed. The mother of the victim had, on Wednesday, Feb 10, registered a complaint with the Keesara police for the kidnapping of her daughter. The police filed a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 365 (kidnapping) after the mother lodged the complaint with Keesara police station.
After documenting the statements, the police added IPC Section 376(D) (Gang Rape), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 354 (B) (Assault or criminal force to woman with the intent to outrage her modesty) along with the existing IPC Section 365, the police said.
“Based on the statement, the investigation officer SHO Keesara added appropriate sections 376 (D), 324, 354 (B) to the existing Section 365 IPC,” informed Rachkonda police, quoted ANI.
The police informed that the investigation in the matter is ongoing and 10 teams are assisting the Investigating Officer (IO) in the matter. It stated that an officer at Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) rank is supervising the whole investigation.
“Scientific investigation is in progress and the victim’s health is stable. The Investigation is in progress. More than 10 teams are assisting the IO. DCP Malkajgiri is personally supervising the investigation,” stated police, read the statement by the police.
