The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) from West Bengal’s Hooghly constituency, Locket Chatterjee, on Monday, Feb 8 slammed state Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, while alleging the latter of practising appeasement politics. The actress turned politician accused Mamata Banerjee of trying to turn Bengal into East Pakistan, which the former affirmed will not be allowed to do.
“Is ‘Jai Shree Ram’ a slang? Mamata government insults Ram and Sita. They (Mamata Banerjee government) practise appeasement politics. They practice politics of 30 per cent (indirectly referring to the minorities). We will not allow making Bengal into East Pakistan,” said BJP MP Chatterjee, quoted ANI.
Chatterjee further lambasted Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress (TMC) for cheating the farmers of the state. She alleged that Mamata Banerjee remained quiet while the farmers continued to suffer for 10 years in the state. Chatterjee further accused CM Banerjee for sending TMC MPs to Singhu border purportedly to instigate the farmers against the recently passed 3 Farm Laws.
While admonishing the CM led state government, Chatterjee alleged that TMC led state government stole the ration sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government during the COVID-19 pandemic to West Bengal. Making her attack sharper on CM Mamata Banerjee, Chatterjee alleged that the former stole the ration during COVID-19 lockdown, tents during the Amphan cyclone and now the COVID-19 vaccine.
“TMC has stolen rice during the lockdown, tents during Amphan cyclone, and even COVID vaccines,” concluded the BJP MP, quoted ANI.
