It is a known fact in the tech industry that tech developers patent their design, then be it their smartphones or any other technology. Talking about smartphones alone, the smartphone makers patent their smartphone design with or without the intent to finally bring them as commercial products. One such brand is Oppo which has recently made headlines for its distinct patent design. In its latest spotted smartphone design, reported to have been filed in March 2020 in the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) and published in Oct 2020, Oppo has shown a very mesmerising smartphone design. The design was first spotted by LetsGoDigital.

Recently, the competition Xiaomi also filed a similar patent design, however, it showed only single reflective mirrors while Oppo has incorporated double reflective mirrors in its patent. It is speculated that the smartphone maker will deploy a multi function button at the side of the smartphone. A single or double press will turn it to be a selfie or activate the rear camera mechanism.

The smartphone maker is also said to incorporate a mechanism to activate only a single camera while the other rests inside the top end slit pockets. Most out of many is to wonder if Oppo will really bring this design to the customers as Oppo has already patented many of its designs but haven’t turned it into a commercial device. Hence, it will be interesting to see if Oppo decides to make this design see the light of the day in future.
