A single storey building, being used as a Godown, in Harihar Compound of Bhiwandi’s Mankoli, collapsed on Monday, Feb 1 at around 10:30 am in the morning. Soon after the incident took place, all required forces, the fire brigade, rescue teams and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reached the spot.

Reports suggest that six have been injured in the tragic incident while 2 were unfortunate and passed away due to the accident. The building is said to be 15-year old and the godown is said to be of an e-tailer. As per TOI report, the owner of the godown was illegally constructing an additional floor which the structure could not bear the load of, hence the whole godown collapsed.

While the godown collapsed in Bhiwandi, another part of Mumbai experienced an equally terrifying accident.
At around 11 am, in Mumbai’s Andheri, a multi-storeyed building located in the premises of Laxmi Industrial Estate experienced a fire breakout on Tuesday, Feb 2. The fire was reported from the sixth floor of the building, to aid which five fire tenders were sent immediately to the spot.

Four fire brigades and four water tankers were rushed to the spot. As per the fire brigade officials, no injuries or casualties due to the incident have been reported.
