The Hathras case came to light in October when reportedly in September after the dalit victim was admitted in Safdarjung hospital of Delhi for her injuries. However, the victim couldn’t survive and succumbed to her injuries. The UP administration allegedly forcibly burnt the victim’s body without allowing the family to do the last rites of the victim.

The UP administration was reprehended for this act and several media houses tried to meet the victim’s family which the Yogi government seemed to hesitate to allow. However, after several days of struggle, the media met the victim’s family who accused the administration of pressurising them. After much criticism, the UP Government handed over the case to the central premiere agency which has submitted the charge sheet on Friday.
