The Uddhav Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aaghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra on Wednesday, Oct 28 proposed to the Railways to resume the local train services to the general public. In the proposal, the Maharashtra government has suggested to reopen the local trains in a staggered manner and in the specific 3 slots. The first slot is between 4.30 am – 7.30 am while the second slot is between 11 am – 4 pm. The third and the final slot is starting from 8 pm till the last train.
The Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)-Congress Party led Maha government has also suggested a separate slot for peak hours for the essential service providers. The two slots suggested are between 8 am – 10.30 am and 5 pm – 7.30 pm. This slot is presumed to be suggested by keeping in mind the peak hours for the essential service providers.
The proposal by Maha government also suggests that it wishes to reserve the peak hour train services for the essential service providers while the non-peak hours for the general public. With regards to the local train services to the ladies, the proposal mentions to avail ladies special trains in an interval of every one hour. The Maha government sought more inputs from railways in this regard. To recall, the government had resumed the ladies special trains previously.
The Maha government is slowly taking decisions to open the public places for the general public. However, it has yet not taken a decision to open the temples which has brought the Shiv Sena led state government in the bitter eyes of Hindus. The Hindus across the state have urged the state government to allow them to open their worship places, otherwise they will stage protests against the government soon.
