How PM Narendra Modi addressed the Nation, Ignored Rahul Gandhi’s Urge

For the first time in almost 3 months, the country has recorded less than 50,000 new cases in a day. The country’s tally is close to76 lakhs. The Health Ministry reported 46,790 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, which takes the overall cases to 75,97,063. It was recently reported by the Government that the country has crossed its peak with the virus as its daily average cases have tapered against a high of more than 90,000 daily cases recorded in the mid-September.

PM Narendra Modi ignores Rahul Gandhi urge in Nation Addressing

In a tweet on Tuesday, Oct 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wrote, “Will be sharing a message with my fellow citizens at 6 pm this evening.” The matter of the message was not disclosed but considering the current situation, it was believed that he would speak about Coronavirus, where India stands in the race and the forthcoming of the vaccine in the wake of the upcoming festivals.

Before the PM’s address to the nation, opposition leader, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “In your 6pm address, please tell the nation the date by which you will throw the Chinese out of Indian Territory.”

Modiji’s address began with, “In the fight against Corona, people of India have come a long way from the curfew till today but we should not forget that even though the lockdown is gone, the virus is not gone. With efforts of every Indian over last 7-8 months, India is in a stable situation and we must not let it deteriorate. Economic activities are also increasing rapidly over time.”

“Most of us are stepping out of our homes every day to fulfil our responsibilities, to speed up life again. This season of festivals is also slowly returning to the markets. Keep in mind, whether it is America today, or other countries in Europe, the cases of corona were decreasing in these countries, but suddenly started increasing again. Fight against Covid should not weaken till we get the vaccine.” PM Modi continued by addressing the prime query of each citizen as the season of festivals is approaching.

“If you are negligent, coming out without a mask, you are putting yourself, your family, your family’s children, and the elderly in the same great crisis. Years later, we will see the work that is being done now on a war footing to save humanity.” PM Modi said convincingly to encourage people to follow safety and social distancing guidelines.

“Scientists of our country are also working hard for vaccine. Several corona vaccines are currently in operation in India. Some of these are on advanced stage. Today, the recovery rate in the country is good. The fatality rate is low. 5,500 people out of every 10 lakh in India are infected, whereas in countries like the US & Brazil, this figure is around 25,000. The fatality rate in India is 83 out of every 10 lakh population in India, whereas it is more than 600 in countries like the US, Brazil, Spain, Britain.” He added to support his further statement.

“Recently, we saw many photos & videos where it is clearly seen that people are not careful anymore. This isn’t right. Govt is making all efforts to ensure that vaccine, whenever it is launched, reaches every Indian. More than 10 crore tests have been conducted so far, over 2,000 Covid labs are operational, over 90 lakhs beds are available and over 12,000 quarantine centres are there in the country.” He affirmed his government’s efforts to maul the lethal virus.

“Following the mantra of ‘Seva Parmo Dharma’, our doctors, nurses, and health workers are selflessly serving such a large population. Amidst all these efforts, this is not the time to be careless.” He finished urging the people to act responsibly individually for the sake of people that are giving their bests for the country in this tough time. He requested the present media personnel and the people on social media that tuned in on his speech to use their reach to spread public awareness for following Covid-19 guidelines.
