The Nokia brand licensee, HMD Global, is said to be working on 4G feature phones like that by Reliance Jio. The brand is reportedly planning to launch three feature phones with 4G compatibility. The brand which is known for its sturdy phone models, especially, the feature phones, will try to acquire the 4G customers who use feature phones. The company is planning to launch these three 4G compatible feature phones this month or later this year.
The three models are said to be named as Nokia 215, Nokia 225 and Nokia Leo Basic. The Nokia 215 is touted to be named either Nokia 215 (2020) or Nokia 215 4G. The phone is said to be the most affordable feature phone out of the three phones, however, is speculated to come without any camera sensor.
The Nokia 225 is said to carry the price tag higher than that of Nokia 215. It is touted to support video streaming apps like YouTube and social media apps like Facebook. It is 4G LTE compatible and is tipped to have cleared the FCC certification.
The third device is the Nokia Leo Basic, as per speculations, however, the online news hasn’t made any certain claims on the name of this third device. The Nokia Leo Basic is also a 4G LTE compatible handset with support for apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, etc. The handset sports a side panel button which is touted for Google Assistant.
All the three handsets are likely to be powered by the KaiOS operating system. The handsets were to launch on August 3, as per the dates on the display of the leaked renders, however, due to Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) the launch has been shifted for a later month. The ensuing launch event on August 25 is also slated to announce the 4G feature phones among the other Nokia products.
