A thrilling and chilling video which is making rounds on social media of a gym instrument in an open gym in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi moving freely presumably due to a ghost effect, has finally seen its fate on Friday, June 12. The spooky viral video which could make anyone believe that the instrument’s free movement without human intervention is nothing but an effect of a fitness freak ghost, has turned out to be a technical work by some mischievous pranksters.
Before we tell you the real cause of the free movement of the gym instrument without a human intervention, let us first understand the content shown in the viral video. In the 31-second viral video, a Lat Pulldown machine is seen at work without any human intervention as if somebody is carrying out work out with the machine. The video also shows the presence of Khaki uniformed cops who seem to be baffled over the incident.

The video appeared on social media and gradually went viral, which tensed the Jhansi police too. However, soon after a slight interrogation at the site with the garden’s security guard and others, the police discovered that it was perhaps the effect of over-greasing. The security guard of the garden informed police that it is no ghost effect but the effect of over-greasing by some pranksters. Due to over-grease, once set in motion, the swing will continue for some time.
Soon, the Jhansi Police came forward with their findings on the video and appealed to all to abstain from spreading rumours about ghost effect in the viral video. “In the video that is becoming increasingly viral, the swing is seen swinging on its own, the veracity was checked on the spot by @COCityJhansi, so it was found that due to over-greasing, once the swing was set in motion, it continued to swing for some time. Appeal to all of you to not spread rumours of there being a ghost, etc. #FakeNewsAlert,” read the tweet by Jhansi Police.

Additional Superintendent of Police, UP, Rahul Srivastav, also took to his twitter to rubbish the viral claim of “ghost’s work out” in the video. “Fitness freak ghost ? @jhansipolice got a tip off about an open gym being used by ghosts!Team laid seige & soon found it real ghosts-Some mischievous person made a video of moving swing & shared on #socialmedia. Miscreants will b hosted in a ‘haunted’ lockup soon #NoHostForGhost,” wrote Addl. SP of UP on his Twitter handle.
