Narayan is reported to have come walking from Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district to Shajapur district in pursuance of medical treatment. It is reported that Narayan’s family paid a sum of Rs. 6,000 to the hospital administration during the treatment. The family claimed that it paid Rs. 5,000 to the hospital authorities later as well. However, at the time of discharge, the hospital administration sought Rs. 11,270 more.
The family failed to pay the bill of Rs. 11,270 as they couldn’t arrange the funds. Upon failure to pay the amount, the hospital administration tied Narayan’s limbs with a rope to his bed, as seen in the viral video. Somebody shot the whole scene in a mobile camera and shared it on social media. The video got viral and encountered public furore over this inhuman treatment to an elderly and helpless man.
The viral video is disturbing as the doctors are compared to God during the ongoing Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Such a scene coming from a hospital which is considered next to God’s house right now is disturbing and astonishing.
