The South Korean tech giant, Samsung, is said to be planning to launch its third foldable smartphone in the second half of the year. The device’s name is said to be none other than the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2. The smartphone is the successor of the last year launched Samsung Galaxy Fold. As per a source from South Korea, the production for the Galaxy Fold 2 has already begun several days ago.

The smartphone is said to be using the Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) technology which is for the second time that any Samsung smartphone would use. The first foldable smartphone to use this technology was Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. This is effectively considered to make the durability of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 better than the last year launched predecessor.
As for the pricing of the device, reports state that the Galaxy Fold 2 would cost lesser than that of the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The successor is said to set for a price of $1880 in the USA which is seemingly $100 economical than that of the predecessor.

With regards to the launch of the device, it is said that the smartphone will launch in August 2020. It is also said that the South Korean tech giant will also launch its Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Tab S7 alongside the Galaxy Fold 2.
With regards to the number of units it plans to manufacture, it is said that the company will make as many as 3 million units of Galaxy Fold 2 by August 2020. This is 6 times more than the units manufactured by the South Korean tech giant for Galaxy Fold last year.
