The South Korean tech giant has already launched its mid-range smartphone, LG Velvet, in the first week of this month. The company is now reportedly working on the swivel style dual display smartphone, LG Wing, to catch the attention of the smartphone lovers. The smartphone is likely to launch in the second half of the year, possibly in the fourth quarter of the year.
As per the report of the South Korean blog, the second display can be used for multitasking, say accessing the editing controls while viewing the photo in the primary display. Similarly, typing in the secondary display while chatting, whilst the main display would show the chatting window. The smartphone is likely to carry the price tag of 1 million won (approx. INR 61,355).
This is not the first dual display smartphone that LG is coming up with. The tech brand had earlier launched LG G8X & LG V60 with dual displays. However, the purpose of the secondary display was to open two apps at the same time. Wherein, in LG Wing, it will be for multitasking.
As for the specifications, the LG Wing will sport a 6.4-inch main display with 1:1 ratio and a 4-inch sub-screen. It is likely to support 5G connectivity due to the presence of Snapdragon 7-series processor. On the optics front, similar to the LG Velvet, the LG Wing will also have a triple lens camera but with a better megapixel sensor, 64-megapixel sensor, than the 48-megapixel in the LG Velvet.
