The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has started addressing the nation at 8 pm on Tuesday, May 12. This is PM Modi’s 5th addressing to the nation after Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has trapped the country in it’s grip. The Prime Minister Office (PMO) shared the news of PM Modi addressing the nation at 8pm on Tuesday by tweeting the message.

Since then, speculations are high in what PM Modi has in his addressing.
Notably, PM Modi had a video conferencing meeting with the Chief Ministers of all the states on Monday, May 11.

The meeting concluded with majority of CMs appealing PM Modi led Central Government to extend the lockdown period. Several speculations state that PM Modi may announce the extension of nationwide lockdown for the third time.
The first lockdown announcement was on March 24 by PM Modi for the period of 21 days. The lockdown was extended, on April 14, till May 3. The second time lockdown extension was announced by the Union Ministry, on May 3, till May 17. The deadline of the ongoing nation-wide lockdown is set for May 17. This will be the third time when the nationwide lockdown will be extended.
Tuesday, May 12, 08:31 pm: Lockdown 4.0 will begin from May 18, but in a new form. The changes in the Lockdown have been made by taking advises from each states of the country. The details of the Lockdown 4.0 will be briefed to the nation before May 18. – PM Modi said in the addressing.
