No Need of Army Deployment in Mumbai – CM Uddhav Thackeray

The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray, on Friday, May 8, announced that there is no need of army deployment in Mumbai. The Shiv Sena supremo rubbished the rumours of army deployment in the financial centre of the country. “Whatever I have done till today, I’ve done by informing citizens,” assured CM Thackeray while addressing the state citizens via live streaming.

“Police force is under tremendous pressure. If we need more forces we will ask for central forces in order to give some rest to our police. But that will not mean that army has been called. It will be done only if needed”, CM Uddhav Thackeray clarified during his addressing on Friday.

The Maharashtra CM asked citizens to be disciplined during this tough time, which will be enough. “There has been a rumour for the past 2-3 days that army will be deployed in Mumbai. There is no need for army deployment here. Whatever I’ve done till today I’ve done by informing citizens. You all should be disciplined and that will be enough. No need to call army here,” said CM Thackeray, quoted ANI.
