After launching the OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro amid the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak by BBK subsidiary brand, OnePlus, it is time for it’s another subsidiary brand, Oppo, to follow the footsteps. Oppo launched the sibling of Oppo A52 which was launched in China sometime back. The Oppo A72 which is the global version of Oppo A52 has been unwrapped by the Chinese smartphone brand on Tuesday, April 21.
The highlight features of the handset include a large Full-HD+ display, Snapdragon 665 SoC, Quad Camera setup at the back panel and an inbuilt 5,000mAh battery. The price of the handset is yet not revealed, however, to take a guess, it will be somewhat higher than the price of Oppo A52 which was launched at CNY 1,600 in China.
The handset sports a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ display with screen resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. On the optics front, the Oppo A72 sports a quad camera module at the top left corner of the rear panel.
The vertically aligned quad camera module include a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel secondary ultra-wide sensor, 2-megapixel macro lens as the third lens while a 2-megapixel depth sensor as the fourth sensor. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone features a 16-megapixel front camera which is located at the top left corner of the handset, most likely a punch-hole enclosing.
The Oppo A72 runs on ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10 which is no different than the Oppo A52. The Oppo A72 is powered by a Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with a 4GB RAM. This setup is equivalent to the Chinese sibling, Oppo A52. In terms of the internal storage capacity, the handset features 128GB storage capacity whereas the Oppo A52 had the provision for only 64GB internal storage capacity. The internal storage capacity can be expanded using a MicroSD.
The handset packs a 5,000mAh battery compatible with 18W fast charging. In terms of the fingerprint scanner, this feature is available at the side panel to provide the ease of unlocking the phone.
