Ahmedabad: College Lecture on Zoom turns Vulgar as Hacker Starts Masturbating, NCW takes Cognisance

NCW was referring to a recent incident reported, allegedly, from Nirma University in Gujarat's Ahmedabad where the vulgar & disturbing incident took place during an online class lecture. A student reported that while the class lecture on Zoom was going on, suddenly there came an unknown man on the screen who started masturbating live.

The National Commission for Women (NCW), on Monday, April 20, took cognisance of a shameful incident of an online class lecture on Zoom which got hacked by an unknown man and started masturbating which embarrassed the participants.

In it’s statement issued, NCW expressed concerns over the safety of women online due to such bizarre adventure of hackers. The Commission wrote to Gujarat’s Director General of Police (DGP), Shivanand Jha, urging to probe the matter and bring the culprit to justice.

“The Commission has written to Shivanand Jha, Director General of Police, Gujarat to probe into the matter immediately and strict legal action must be taken against the culprit,” NCW stated while expressing concerns over online safety of women, quoted ANI.

“The Commission has received a message from a student of Nirma University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat stating that during an online class on Zoom online service, an unknown man hacked the group call and started masturbating,” stated NCW on the matter, quoted ANI.

Recently, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an advisory urging to prohibit use of Zoom app as it’s not safe. There are reports claiming that Zoom app fetches all device data as well as other data including the video of the meeting to Chinese authorities as the app is China based.
