The Chinese tech giant, Lenovo, and it’s subsidiary brand, Motorola, have extended their global product warranty to May 31 in view of the ongoing Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The companies have jointly released a press release in which the product warranty extension was revealed for those products which were expiring between March 15 – April 20.
The warranty extension is made applicable on smartphones and accessories of Lenovo & Motorola.
The decision by the companies is a boon to those who are facing issues with their smartphones but can’t take it to the company authorized service centers due to lockdown. Lenovo & Motorola are not the only ones to offer product warranty extension, there are other tech giants too who have done the same.
The Chinese competitors like Huawei, Honor, Realme, OnePlus, Samsung, etc. have already extended their product warranty on their respective products. The decision by Lenovo & Motorola are seen as a one inspired by the other tech giants.
In it’s statement, the Lenovo mentioned that the company wants to support it’s customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. “To better support our customers, Lenovo and Motorola are offering a free global warranty extension for up to 75 days through May 31, 2020 for all Lenovo/Motorola smartphones and accessories with warranties that are coming to an end between March 15 through April 30, 2020,” read the statement from the company.
