The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) supremo, Raj Thackeray, on Saturday, April 4, took cognisance of the increasing incidents of non-cooperation in isolation and treatment of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients by the members of the Tablighi Jamaat. The MNS chief lashed out at the miscreant members of Tablighi Jamaat who have acted as a catalyst in the drastic surge in the confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in India.
Thackeray demanded for the assassination of the members of Tablighi Jamaat who are keeping their religion ahead of the nation. “ज्यांना देशापेक्षा धर्म मोठा वाटत असेल किंवा ह्या आपत्तित काही कारस्थान रचावा असा वाटत असेल तर अशा लोकांवर उपचार करण्यापेक्षा गोल्या घालुन ठार मारलां पाहिजे। (Those, who consider religion higher than the country or those who create ruckus during this (COVID-19) pandemic must be shot dead)” said Thackeray while reacting to the Tablighi Jamaat episode of Nizamuddin Markaz.
The coroniavirus has created a devastation globally. But unfortunately, a few extremists are playing havoc under these circumstances. Keeping this issue in mind, Raj Thackeray had a candid talk with news channels.
Following are the highlights.

Thackeray asked for a firm and exemplary action to be taken against those misbehaving or violently acting with the doctors and hospital staff, or the security forces. He asked for publicly beating of these miscreants who are risking lives of doctors and nurses as well as the security forces who are isolating as well as treating the COVID-19 infected Tablighi Jamaat members. He further stated that this beating of such miscreants must be recorded and circulated to set fear among these miscreants.
Thackeray also stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must include, in his addressing to the nation, how the nation will overcome the economy crisis due to COVID-19 lockdown. He also urged everyone to take lockdown as well as the COVID-19 Pandemic seriously as any careless and disorderly behaviour may extend the lockdown period. This lockdown extension, Thackeray said, will affect the nation’s economy to a great extent. Hence, people must seriously follow the norms of the lockdown.
