COVID-19 Pandemic: Tata Group, TVS Motors & Others announce Financial Help of Crores to Government

Bajaj Group has announced Rs. 100 crore help while Hyundai has pledged to rope in COVID-19 testing kits in huge number in the country to help the government. MG Motors India has also announced Rs. 2 crore help while Mahindra & Maruti Suzuki will manufacture ventilators as a part of it's initiatives to help those infected by COVID-19.

The Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has affected industries all over the world and the impact is still not showing any sign of subsuming any soon. The fact which makes it a very dangerous and deadly disease is the absence of it’s vaccines currently. The total positive confirmed cases across the globe crossed 6 lac on Saturday, March 28, while almost 28 thousands are dead due to COVID-19 effect. In India alone, the number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases is inching fast to cross the number 1000 while the deaths have reached the number 19.

In this difficult situation, many corporates are stepping forward to help the government in combating COVID-19 efficiently. The Tata Sons have offered Rs. 1000 crore while Tata Trusts have pledged to donate Rs. 500 crore to the government to battle out COVID-19 from the nation.

Another automobile company, TVS Motors, has also announced to spend Rs. 30 crore on facilitating equipments to the Indian government to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

N Chandrasekaran, the chairman of Tata Sons, announced on Saturday, that Tata Sons will support the Indian administration to fight against COVID-19 by pumping in Rs. 1000 crore in addition to Rs. 500 pledged by Tata Trusts headed by Ratan Tata.

The company will venture into manufacturing ventilators to provide additional support to the government. The group eyes at providing masks and other medical gears to the medical professionals and police department who are frontlining the virus infected cases.

The TVS Motors Company along with Sundaram-Clayton Ltd. (SCL) have together announced to spend Rs. 30 crore to support nationwide efforts to churn out COVID-19 from the nation.

Venu Srinivasan, chairman of TVS Motors, announced that the company is with the nation in this unprecedented fight against COVID-19. He said that his company will help in facilitating masks, gloves, sanitizers as well as other safety equipments to boosts the fight against COVID-19. The company will spend this fund through Srinivasan Services Trust (SST), the social arm of TVS Motors & SCL.
