The Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to multiply its effect in India and world as it claims the lives of 4 so far in India and more than 9,000 across the world. The COVID-19 has infected 173 so far in India while more than 2 Lacs across the world. As the number in India plunges higher, Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to address the nation and bolster the courage of his countrymen.
“Today, all 130 crore fellow citizens of India will have to further strengthen our resolve to overcome this global crisis, fulfilling all out duties as citizens, and abiding by the directions given by the Central and State governments. Today, we must all resolve to not get infected ourselves, and prevent others as well from getting infected.” appealed PM Modi while addressing the nation on Thursday, March 19.
While PM Modi was seen determined in the fight against the ongoing Corona Virus crisis in India, he seemed apprehensive about it’s impact on the country. While recalling the crisis in the developed countries like United States of America (USA) and United Kingdom (UK), PM Modi cleared that it will not be right to think that India will be immune from the effect of this crisis.
Further consoling the Indian citizens, PM Modi asked everyone to instill Determination & Patience in them in this hard time. PM Modi further appealed to people to exercise “Janata Curfew” (people’s curfew) on March 22, Sunday. He appealed to all the state governments to ensure the compliance of people’s curfew in their states on this day.
PM Modi stated that since there is no known cure to COVID-19, staying healthy and immune are the only options left. PM Modi also commended the efforts of the medical practitioners who have engrossed themselves completely to help people fight this massively harmful virus effect.
He appealed to the nation to stand for the efforts of the medical practitioners on March 22, Sunday at 5 pm. He elaborated his appeal by asking everyone to stand at their balcony or window and observe mass clapping or banging the utensils or bang the bell for 5 mins to applause for the medical practitioners who are at the war footing stage in helping people fight Corona Virus epidemic.
PM Modi said that he is blessed by his countrymen everytime he has asked for something from them. This time around, PM Modi asked his countrymen to provide some time to normalise the effect of COVID-19.
