North East Delhi Riots were a Result of Conspiracy – HM Amit Shah in Lok Sabha

Shah also said that numerous steps have been taken by the government to bring peace back in force in the national capital. He informed that around 650 peace meetings have taken place in the riot affected areas in the North East Delhi to resume peace and harmony.

The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, opened up with facts on Delhi Riots 2020 in the Lok Sabha, on Wednesday, March 11. While placing the facts in the lower house of the parliament, Shah explained the conspiracy behind the numerous riots that took place across North East Delhi between Feb 23 and March 1.

“The spread of riots on such a big scale in such a short time is not possible without a conspiracy. We have registered a case of conspiracy to probe this angle,” said Shah while speaking on Delhi Riots in the Lok Sabha. He also revealed that three people have been arrested on charges of financing the rioters in the North East Delhi. He also added that 2 ISIS connected accused were also arrested.

He also delineated the number of First Information Report (FIR) registered and the arms recovery drive to nab the perpetrators. “700 FIRs registered, 2647 people have been detained.” the Union Home Minister claimed while adding “49 cases of Arms Act have been registered. 153 arms have been recovered.”

The Union Home Minister assured everyone that no action will be taken against the innocent persons during the probe. He also commended Delhi police for cordoning off the riots to only North East Delhi, preventing it to spread to any other parts of the national capital. So far 52 people have died and hundreds injured in the riots that shook the nation at the beginning of the year. As of now, peace has returned in the riot affected areas and life is back on track in the affected areas.
