The Chinese smartphone giant, Xiaomi, has decided to shift it’s product launch schedule to some later date due to the cancellation of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020. It stated in it’s press release that it will delay the launch of it’s Mi 10 series smartphones and other products, without disclosing any specific date.
“We will arrange a separate launch event in Europe at a later date, where we will share information on the Mi 10 series and more amazing products. We will keep you posted on this.” stated the press release from Xiaomi, on Friday, February 14.
The Chinese smartphone maker had earlier asserted to participate in the MWC 2020 in Barcelona, though companies like LG, HMD Global, MediaTek, etc. had taken their step aback from participating in the world’s mega smartphone tech show citing fear of Corona Virus epidemic. However, GSMA, the organizer of MWC declared the cancellation of the tech event on Wednesday, February 12 citing the fear of Corona Virus epidemic. In line with GSMA’s decision, Xiaomi has also postponed it’s pre-MWC launch events.
As per a tweet from Xiaomi’s official Twitter handle, it stated, “To all our Mi Fans, users, partners and friends from the media, following GSMA’s decision to cancel #MWC2020, #Xiaomi will also delay our global product launch of the latest flagship #Mi10 series. Thank you all for your understanding. #NoMiWithoutYou,”

The company had made special arrangements for it’s fans and stakeholders at MWC 2020. Arrangements like a separate microphone for each speaker, sanitation of all it’s display products after every touch and other such arrangements to fight the ongoing fear of life threatening CoronaVirus epidemic.
