A fire of level 3 engulfed a commercial building at MIDC in Mumbai’s Andheri East locality, on Thursday, February 13. The building which caught fire is reported to house a multinational company, Rolta. The fire is said to have originated in the server room of the company on the 2nd floor of the building, which gradually extended to the other parts of the building.
The visuals from the spot showed smoke gushing out from the building and the fire fighters struggling to extinguish the fire. The actual reason of the fire is unknown and is a subject of investigation. However, fire in a multinational company’s building is a matter of concern. Being a working day, the employees were inside the building but no casualties were reported from the spot.
Around 12 fire engines rushed to the spot to douse off the massive fire. “It is level 3 (major) fire. 12 fire engines are engaged in dousing the flames. All efforts are being made to extinguish the blaze,” said the fire brigade official, quoted PTI. No casualties were reported at the time of reporting this news.
