The national capital, Delhi, went to polling on February 8 and showed a higher voter turnout of around 62% to choose it’s government. The exit poll showed the trend in favour of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a runner up party. However, BJP’s Delhi unit chief, Manoj Tiwari, has exuded confidence on his party’s victory with 45-48 seats overall. AAP chief, Arvind Kejriwal, has expressed trust on the exit poll trend but has indicated that the number shown in the exit polls for his party will be surpassed on the day of result declaration. Meanwhile, Congress party which has been shown to acquire 1-3 seats in the exit poll trends, has expressed confidence that the number will be much better than the number projected for it’s party.
The projected winner of the Delhi assembly election 2020, AAP, has made all it’s preparation to celebrate it’s victory for the third time in the union territory. Whereas, BJP hasn’t made any such celebratory preparation due to the exit poll showing undesired result for it’s party. The Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has urged his party workers to restrain from burning crackers on his party’s victory, as Delhi is going through the hardship of air pollution already.
It will be evident only on February 11, if there will be a one side victory of AAP or will it be a nail biting competition between AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party. The counting of the votes will begin from 6am on February 11, and by evening, it will be apparent who is forming the government in the national capital. Will AAP reform it’s government with the number as high as last time or will BJP surprise everyone with it’s comeback? Watch out our latest update feeds below
