The USA tech giant, Google, is testing its floating notification feature called as Android Message Bubbles in the Android 10 featured Google Pixel smartphones. The feature is said to had been rolled out for the Android 10 Beta 2 featured Pixel smartphones in April 2019. However, it wasn’t made available in the stable version of Android 10.
The feature looks similar to that of Facebook’s “Chat Heads” popping up on the display unlike in the notification panel. The feature is liked by many while there are Facebook users who call it nothing but an annoying feature from FB. Facebook messenger chat notification appear as chat heads on the display while chatting with any other user on it.
Some of the techies on XDA developers have got successful in enabling the Android 10 Beta 2 designed ‘Bubbles’ in their devices with stable version of Android 10. The users have also shared the screenshots of the Bubbles working for them. The Bubbles look very identical to that of FB’s chat heads. This news, however, may look uninteresting to those unhappy with this feature.
Though the Bubbles API is in the embryonic stage, users can enable it by accessing the developer options. The navigation for which is shown to be Settings>>Developers Options>>Bubbles. Similar to Facebook’s Chat Heads option, which can be disabled by going into its settings or just dragging the chat heads to the cross sign to make it disappear temporarily from the display. Google Bubbles can also be disabled in the similar/identical manner as in the case of FB chat heads.
We do not know Google’s schedule to roll out this feature, however, it looks difficult to be rolled out in 2019 atleast. The Google team will definitely update us as soon as there is any developments on this path.
