The South Korean tech giant, Samsung, is working on a 144-megapixel sensor bearing smartphone. The news is broken by a famous tipster, Ice Universe, who has claimed that Samsung will unwrap this smartphone with this giant camera sensor in the near future. If this news is true, then the South Korean tech giant will raise the benchmark for it’s competitions in the market. One can imagine the camera features Samsung will advance it’s smartphone with once it completes this leaked project.

The tweet from Ice Universe, which revealed this leaked news, also shared some infographics to reveal other insights. The insights talked about the CMOS image increasing in this mysterious smartphone for a better image processing. It is said that Samsung will make this giant advancement in it’s camera features using the 14nm FinFET process. To give you a recap, Samsung presented the 14nm FinFET process for image advancement, last week, at International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) at Hilton San Francisco Union Square Hotel, California.

The 14nm technology is reported to develop a sensor with a density higher than 100 million pixels. It is said that the sensor pixels vary between 10 million to more than 100 million pixels. With the launch of a smartphone with such a developed and advance 144-megapixel camera, it’s competitions like Huawei and OnePlus will definitely try to leverage their camera sensors to compete efficiently with Samsung in the future.

However, the leakster failed to dive deeper into any more details about the mysterious smartphone or the camera sensor. Neither has Samsung announced anything officially to confirm on the news. Hence, we need to wait for Samsung to unveil things officially, in order to believe on anything.
