The Nokia mobile brand licensee, HMD Global, has taken the wraps off from its Nokia 2.3 in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday. It is a successor model of the last year launched Nokia 2.2. The mobile phone comes with the highlight features like water-drop notch design, dual rear camera setup, MediaTek processor and much power-packed 4,000mAh battery. The company has claimed that the handset will offer security update for 3 years while software update for 2 years.
The price of the handset is set at EUR 109 (approx. INR 8,600) in Europe while it is EGP 1,799 in Egypt. The company hasn’t revealed it’s Indian price but being in the mid-range segment, the price is speculated to be the same. The color variants include Charcoal, Cyan Green and Sand. The availability of the handset is said to start from mid-December outside India, as it’s availability in the Indian market is still undisclosed. Let’s know it’s features and specifications
The Nokia 2.3 dominates the front with a 6.2-inch HD+ in-cell display with a screen resolution of 720x1520pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. As for the optics, the handset sports a dual lens camera at the back vertically aligned in the top middle section of the back panel. The dual lens setup consists of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture coupled with a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor.
The camera setup is empowered with features Bokeh effect and the Portrait mode. It also is claimed by the company to offer Recommended Shot feature that allows the user to pick the best picture out of the multiple pictures clicked by the user. For the low light photography, the camera setup is paired with an LED flash module. It is said that Nokia 2.3 will perform better in the low light conditions using the AI powered image fusion technology. As for the selfie lovers, the handset bears a single lens 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
The Nokia 2.3 runs on Android 9.0 Pie and is said to be Android 10 ready. The time of update, though, is not yet revealed. The handset is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC coupled with 2GB RAM. In terms of inbuilt memory, the handset offers 32GB built-in memory which is expandable to up to 400GB using a MicroSD card. The handset packs a 4,000mAh battery for a considerable amount of phone usage.
On the connectivity front, the Nokia 2.3 offers dual 4G enabled SIM slots (hybrid mode), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm Audio Jack.
