The 5G network is the new thirst of the smartphone consumers and this is leading many of the smartphone makers to instill this technology in their upcoming products. Today, many of the smartphone makers have already launched their 5G enabled handsets, while others are in their embryonic stage of development. One of the smartphone makers, Lenovo, has released a teaser to turn our eyes at it for the 5G technology.
In it’s latest Weibo post, a Lenovo executive has shared a list of 5G chipset makers but has asked us to wait for the “real trump card”. This teaser has given a heat to the boiling question that whether Lenovo is launching a 5G enabled smartphone or a 5G enabled chipset. It may be possible that the company may launch a 5G enabled smartphone by packing a 5G enabled Snapdragon or MediaTek chipset. However, it is probable that the Chinese headquartered tech brand may unveil it’s own 5G enabled chipset.
In the past, we have seen the launch of Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon 855+ capable of 5G connectivity. We have also seen the unwrap of the MediaTek M70 5G chipset to boost an Android based handset for 5G connectivity. Hence we have no clue if the Lenovo executive is hinting at the launch of a 5G enabled handset or a 5G enabled chipset. Most likely, the brand may be working on a 5G smartphone, whereas our instinct does suggest that there is a li’l chance of a 5G enabled chipset launched by the Beijing headquartered Lenovo.
Talking about the teaser, the teaser image doesn’t suggest anything except ‘5G’ which can be read from it clearly. We still await for an official announcement on the 5G product that Lenovo plans launching or announcing. Though it is impressive that Lenovo has atleast made us all talk about 5G for it’s brand. We wait for more updates on this news to speculate anything further.
