Samsung W20 5G with Foldable Displays and latest Snapdragon 855+ Processor Launched

The company has featured the latest 5G network compatibility in the new version of the company's first foldable smartphone. The company has also upgraded the processor chipset to the latest Snapdragon 855+ for better performance.

The South Korean tech giant, Samsung, has launched it’s rebranded version of Samsung Galaxy Fold with the moniker Samsung W20 5G in China. The company has featured the latest 5G network compatibility in the new version of the company’s first foldable smartphone. The company has also upgraded the processor chipset to the latest Snapdragon 855+ for better performance. The phone has been crafted with a new paint job to give it a fresh feel to the Chinese consumers. The rest of the features and specifications are inherited into the newly launched Samsung W20 5G from the Galaxy Fold model.

The price and the availability of the Samsung W20 5G in China are not yet revealed by the South Korean tech giant. However, if the speculations are to be believed, the price could be set at approximate CNY 17,000 (approx. INR 1,73,000) in China. The availability of the smartphone is also speculated to begin from December this year. It comes in Pearl White finish.

The Samsung W20 5G sports the similar dual display viz; cover display in the folded state and the flexible display in the unfolded state. The cover display features a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED HD+ display with the screen resolution of 840x1920px and 21:9 aspect ratio. The secondary flexible display features a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED display with screen resolution of 1536x2152px and 4.2:3 aspect ratio. On the optics front, it sports a triple lens camera module at the back, with 16-megapixel primary sensor with ultra-wide angle lens, 12-megapixel secondary sensor with OIS and 12-megapixel tertiary telephoto sensor with OIS.

As for the aperture of these three camera sensors are concerned, the primary sensor comes with f/2.2 aperture, secondary sensor with variable aperture of f/1.5 to f/2.4 resolution. For the selfies and video calling, Samsung has placed a dual lens camera at the front of the flexible display with 10-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.9 aperture & 85-degree field-of-view. On the cover display sits a single lens 10-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree field-of-view.

The Samsung W20 5G runs on the One UI based on Android 9 Pie. It is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 855+ SoC, paired with 12GB RAM. The phone comes with 512GB internal storage capacity without the availability of any external SD card slot.

Samsung W20 5G comes with 5G connectivity as mentioned earlier, also the 4G LTE for the network connectivity. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth v5.0, latest WiFi 802.11 ax, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, Type-C USB port and no 3.5mm audio jack. The sensors onboard include ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, proximity and in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone packs a dual battery setup with cumulative 4,235mAh power capacity and supports wireless charging.
