The singing legend, Lata Mangeshkar, has been admitted to the hospital in Mumbai and her condition is reported to be critical. At 1.30 am on Monday, 90 year old Mangeshkar was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after she indicated breathlessness. Later, she was shifted to ICU and subsequently, on ventilator. As per TOI, Mangeshkar is critical and kept on life support system now.
Lata Mangeshkar is suffering from Pneumonia and left ventricle failure, which shows the criticality of the case, a doctor told the source. However, the doctors have indicated improvement in Mangeshkar’s health. On the other hand, Lata Mangeshkar’s family has said that she is stable and is recovering.
Lata Mangeshkar is a music director and a renowned playback singer, most popularly, in Bollywood. Born on September 28, 1929, Mangeshkar is considered as one of the most respected playback singers in the Bollywood, Marathi Film Fraternity and among the common men across the country. In 1963, her singing of ‘Ae Mere Watan ke Logo’ in front of then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru made him in tears of emotion. The song was written by Kavi Pradeep and composed by C. Ramchandra.
