After launching it’s first foldable smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Fold, this September, the South Korean tech giant, Samsung, is all set to introduce it’s next foldable smartphone. As per a teaser released by Samsung Electronics, the next foldable “clampshell” smartphone would fold horizontally. The Samsung Galaxy Fold folds vertically and the new design with horizontal folding is catching a lot of eyeballs. In it’s annual event, Samsung Developer Conference 2019, in the USA, the largest smartphone maker showed the new design in the presence of Sally Hyesoon Jeong, the company’s Head of Framework R&D Group.

Jeong introduced the new “clampshell” foldable design in the event followed by her question, “incredible, right?”. The audience was bound to reply with an applause for the design. When folded half horizontally, the smartphone takes the form of a square shaped phone. The design looked similar to that of the rumoured Motorola RAZR foldable smartphone.

Jeong, though, didn’t reveal any more details of the smartphone except the design. We also couldn’t get to know the pricing of the smartphone. Though, speculations are high that there will be numerous leaks ahead of it’s official wrap-off ceremony. Samsung is running ahead by launching 5G phones and $2000 foldable smartphones to take on Apple and Huawei in the smartphone segment. We await for more leaks to have a sneak-peak at the machinery of the smartphone.
