Forming a new government in Maharashtra is proving to be a hard nut to crack for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has, on Tuesday, denied of any 50:50 power sharing deal with Shiv Sena. He reaffirmed that he will remain the CM of the state for the next 5 year again. “At the time of Lok Sabha polls, Shiv Sena had put forward a proposal for rotational chief minister for 2.5 yrs but no decision was taken on it in front of me. Any discussion on it b/w Amit Shah Ji & Uddhav Ji is known only to them & only they can decide on it,” said Fadnavis, quoted ANI.

He further added that no CM post was offered to Shiv Sena for 2.5 years as it is said by the Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. Fadnavis was briefing the reporters at his residence ‘Varsha’ on Tuesday when he cleared the air on news of 50:50 power sharing deal.
Taking a dig at the BJP leadership on this, Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut, reiterated that the 50:50 power sharing proposal was “uttered” by Fadnavis himself. “I don’t know what the CM has said. If he is saying that the ’50-50 formula’ was never discussed, then I think we need to change the definition of truth. What was discussed, regarding the issue the CM is talking about, is known by all. The media was there,” said Raut to ANI.

The Shiv Sena chief, Uddhav Thackeray, had said, on Oct 24, that the government will be formed in Maharashtra based on the negotiation of 50:50 power sharing done by BJP leadership before the Lok Sabha election 2019. The 50:50 power sharing formula is, basically, the CM post sharing between BJP & Shiv Sena for 2.5 years each. The statement spread like a wild fire in the state and both, BJP and Shiv Sena, started opining on the issue. While both the ‘old-age friends’ are dealing with the newly emerged dispute among themselves, Congress party has taken a sling shot at them.
Congress party leader, Prithviraj Chauhan, spoke to the news agency ANI and asked both, BJP and Shiv Sena, to share with Maharashtra voters the pre-poll deal between them. “BJP & Shiv Sena should tell Maharashtra voters what was decided between them. If they have so much of distrust between them, how can they form the government?,” said Chauhan on the issue. He, however, denied of any proposal being forwarded by Shiv Sena to them for government formation in the state.
