The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Wednesday, backlashed at Mallikarjun Kharge, for his “tamasha (drama)” remark on ‘Shastra Pooja’ (worship of weapons) by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at the time of receipt of the first French made Rafale fighter jet in France. The Congress party leader and current General Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) of Maharashtra, Kharge, had passed a controversial comment of “no need to do such ‘tamasha'” comment on Wednesday.
“There is no need to do such tamasha. When we bought weapons-like Bofors gun previously purchased, no one went and brought them while showing off,” Kharge was quoted as saying by ANI. As expected, BJP pounced on Kharge’s remark and punched back with a ‘Bofors scam’ remark.

“Congress has problems with: Air Force modernization. Indian customs & traditions. For a party used to worshipping Quattrocchi, ‘Shastra Pooja’ is naturally a problem,” tweeted BJP Twitter handle taking a jibe at Kharge’s remark. “And, Kharge ji, thank you for reminding us about the Bofors scam.” added the tweet by the saffron party’s Twitter handle.
