The prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Finance and Defence Minister, Arun Jaitley took his last breath on August 24, 2019 in Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) hospital. The 66 year old former Union minister was admitted to AIIMS hospital on August 6 after he complained of restlessness & breathlessness.
The former Union minister was a diabetic and had undergone triple bypass heart surgery when he was 52 yo. Arun Jaitley was considered as a key contributor in the Narendra Modi Government between 2014-2019. He held the key ministry of Finance, Defence, Corporate Affairs and Information & Broadcasting during Modi-led government in it’s first term. Jaitley appealed to stay away from holding any key position in the Union cabinet of the second term of Modi Government due to health issues.

While his mortal remains will be kept in the BJP headquarter post 10am for people to pay their last respects. The cremation of his mortal remains will be held post-afternoon.
