The Lenovo owned Motorola is reported to have been working on a foldable smartphone concept and may launch it by December this year. As per reports, the smartphone may launch in United States (US) and may then be unveiled in Europe. The news has definitely made the Motorola fans feel the exultation as so far, only Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi are in the race to introduce their foldable smartphone in the market.

The news broke after the company reportedly filed the patent of it’s foldable smartphone in the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) recently. The sources confirm that the company may launch the device in early December 2019 or January 2020. The price it may carry varies in reports but most likely, it may be set at EUR 1,500 (approx. INR 1,19,000).
The news also seem to be authentic as the Motorola VP of Global Prpduct, Dan Derry, hinted at such foldable smartphone concept in progress. In an interview, Derry shared how Motorola has a plan to bring foldable smartphones for it’s consumers. Derry, though, kept his lips tight over the name and specifications of the smartphone.

As for the design, it looks similar to the one created by the ‘Yanko Design’ designer Sarang Sheth. The concept is said to be under the flagship of Razr, however, there isn’t enough proof available to rely upon it. Unlike the concept shared by Samsung, Huawei & Xiaomi where the display can fold on vertical axis, Motorola foldable smartphone will fold on horizontal axis.
As per the earlier leaks, the Motorola foldable smartphone may sport a 6.2-inch folding display with screen resolution of 876×2142 pixels whereas the secondary display will bear the resolution of 600×800 pixels. It is said to be powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM. The inbuilt memory may extend to 128GB.
