The Nokia brand licensee, HMD Global, is working on it’s new presentation, Nokia 7.2, the successor of Nokia 7.1 which was launched in the last quarter of 2018. A well known processor benchmarking platform, GeekBench, has shown the presence of Nokia 7.2 with its performance score on a single-core and multi-core testing. The GeekBench score displays decent score on both the scoring testing for the upcoming Nokia 7.2. The handset is expected for an official launch in August 2019 and so the news is exciting for the Nokia followers.
As per the listing, the Nokia 7.2 will run on Android 9 and may be powered by a chipset codenamed ‘Daredevil’. The findings suggest that those handsets with code name ‘Daredevil’ had the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and hence, it wouldn’t be wrong to guess that the Nokia 7.2 may be powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC. The GeekBench listing also suggest that the chipset will run on an Octa-Core platform and will be clocked at up to 1.84GHz. The handset also shows the possibility of packing 6GB RAM as compared to up to 4GB RAM availability in it’s predecessor.
Talking about the predecessor of mid-range Nokia 7.2, the Nokia 7.1 was launched with Snapdragon 636 processor and initially running on Android 8.1 version. The handset had 64GB inbuilt storage, so expecting the same inbuilt storage option will make more sense to us. Talking about the GeekBench score, the Nokia 7.2 scores 1604 on single core test while 5821 on multi core test.
The GeekBench listing could only give us limited information, however, there are speculations about it sporting an FHD+ display with a triple lens camera setup at the rear like in the case of the Nokia 7.1. Also, the speculations suggest that the camera department may include Carl Zeiss lens for better picture quality. Before we look at some of other speculations and rely on that, we suggest to wait for the company to unveil the insights about the phone officially for it’s fans soon.
