Nubia Z20 sporting Dual Displays, Triple Lens Camera and Snapdragon 855+ Processor Launched

The Chinese smartphone sub-brand, Nubia, of ZTE has reportedly launched it’s new handset Nubia Z20 in China. The highlight features of the handset lie in it’s dual display (front & back), triple lens camera, Snapdragon 855+ chipset, upto 8GB RAM and 4,000mAh battery. The handset is set at a price point of CNY 3,499 (approx. INR 35,200) for the variant with 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage capacity. The price is slight higher at CNY 3,699 (approx. Another variant which is called the top-of-line variant with 8GB RAM + 512GB inbuilt storage is set at a price of CNY 4,199 (approx. INR 42,200). The handset is said to be available in Black, Blue & Orange color variants and is reported to go on-sale from August 16, however, the pre-order has begun for the interested customers. The international availability, as per sources, is set for September this year. Let’s now look at the specifications and features of the smartphone

The Nubia Z20 sports a 6.42-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with 91.94% screen-to-body ratio dominating the front panel, while a 5.1-inch HD+ Flexible AMOLED display at the rear panel. The front display bears the resolution of 1080x2340px while the rear one bears 720x1520px. The display design lacks any notch as the company has dumped the front camera concept due to the presence of the dual display.

On the optics front, the smartphone sports a triple lens camera setup at the back with the placement of an arrangement for dual LED flash. The vertically aligned triple lens camera bears a 48-megapixel Sony IMX585 primary sensor while a 16-megapixel secondary wide angle sensor with 122.2 degree view and a 8-megapixel tertiary telephoto lens. The camera department features various modes for picture enhancement like self portrait mode, etc. along with 3X lossless zoom and 30X digital zoom. For selfies, the smartphone doesn’t bear any front camera but the rear camera can be used for selfies, thanks to its dual display availability.

The handset runs Nubia UI 7.0 based on Android 9 Pie and is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 855+ SoC, paired with 6GB/8GB RAM. In terms of the internal storage capacity, the device offers 128GB/512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. In terms of the internal battery, the smartphone bears a 4,000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging.

In terms of connectivity, the Nubia Z20 features dual SIM slot, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/A-GPS and Type C USB connectivity. The sensors onboard include dual fingerprint scanner (front & back), ambient light sensor, accelerometer, pressure sensor on the sides of the smartphone and magnetometer.
