The 81-year old prominent Delhi Congress party leader and three time chief minister of Delhi, Sheila Dixit, has passed away at around 3.30pm on Saturday. The Congress party mourns as it loses one of it’s prominent and eminent leader. As per the latest press bulletin released by Fortis Escorts hospital where she was admitted, Dixit died of cardiac arrest.

July 20, 05:12pm: Body of Shiela Dixit will be taken to her residence in Nizamuddin east at 6pm today. Tomorrow 2.30pm is scheduled for her cremation.
July 20, 05:37pm: Sheila Dixit has served Delhi as it’s Chief Minister from 1998 till 2013 and is known as the longest serving chief minister of the national capital.
July 20, 06:10pm: Notable Congress party leader, Ahmed Patel, gave a brief about Sheila Dixit’s last rites. He said, “I think her mortal remains will be taken to their home in 1-1:30 hours, then it will be decided tomorrow morning when to take it to Congress headquarters, then it will be taken to Nigam Bodh Chat,”

July 20, 06:23pm: A 2-day state mourning has been announced in the national capital in view of the loss of a great political leader like Sheila Dixit. The Dy. CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, announced it on behalf of his government in Delhi. “Delhi government has decided to declare 2-day state mourning over the demise of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit,” Sisodia was quoted as saying by ANI.

July 20, 08:08pm: Several political leaders like United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chief Sonia Gandhi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief, Arvind Kejriwal and several other party leaders paid homage to Sheila Dixit as her mortal remains is kept in her sister’s residence for people to pay the last visit.
