The Punjabi rapper, Hard Kaur, got booked under sedition charges on a behest of a Varanasi based advocate for her objectionable comments on Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Yogi Adityanath and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. A First Information Report (FIR) got registered against Hard Kaur after a Varanasi based advocate, Shashank Shekhar, filed a complaint of sedition for making objectionable comments on her Facebook page and Instagram handle since June 17. Kaur is seen sharing abusive comments against Yogi Adityanath and Mohan Bhagwat which prima facie hint at Kaur being in trouble for her unruly comments.

Kaur, originally known as Taran Kaur Dhillon, is booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Information Technology (IT) act. The sections include Section 124A (Sedition), 153A (promotion enmity between different groups on grounds of religion), 500 (defamation), and 505 (intent to incite) of the IPC and Section 66 of the IT Act.
Kaur first remonstrated against the two prominent saffron-robed dignitaries by posting her first outrageous Facebook and Instagram post on June 17 at 05:13 PM IST against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. She first posted a picture of RSS Chief captioned, “HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL TERRORIST ATTACKS IN INDIA INCLUDING 26/11, PULWAMA ATTACK. THE FACE OF ALL PROBLEMS IN INDIA. CONSTITUTIONAL CASTEISM IS A CRIME. YOU MOFO’S YOU ARE BANNED BY SARDAR PATEL JI AFTER GANDHI’S MURDER BY GODSE. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO FUNCTION. IN HISTORY MAHATMA BUDDHA AND MAHAVIR FOUGHT AGAINST THE BRAHMINICAL CASTE SYSTEM. YOU ARE NOT A NATIONALIST, YOU ARE A RACIST MURDERER 💯 #fact”

A day later, her another post sparked controversy when she continued her attack on saffron leaders. This time around, it was against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) star campaigner, Yogi Adityanath, at midnight 02:39 am IST. In the picture posted by Kaur, Yogi Adityanath could be seen robed in Saffron attire and she captioned it with her outrageous thought. “IF THIS GUY WAS A SUPERHERO HIS NAME WOULD BE-RAPEMAN YOGI. YOU CALL HIM WHEN YOU WANT YOUR SISTERS, MOTHERS, DAUGHTERS RAPED. NATIONAL HERO. I PERSONALLY CALL HIM #ORANGERAPEMAN #indiastandup” read Kaur’s Facebook and Instagram post.
In her other posts she was mourning for Gauri Lankesh, an Indian journalist, and Hemant Karkare who served as a Chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS). Also her few posts involved memes targeting RSS and Modi and her stand against Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) used in India during elections.

Hard Kaur’s last post on her Facebook page was yesterday morning at 08:34 am IST where she confirmed possessing evidence for Hemant Karkare’s murder conspiracy. “I HAVE A SOUND RECORDING OF THE EDITOR EX IGP OFFICER S.M MUSHRIF ABOUT THE HEMANT KARKARE’S MURDER & EXPOSING MANY OTHER PROPAGANDAS. Notably, the star rapper has been using a common hashtag “#indiastandup” all through her series of posts. With all the controversy and objectionable comments made by Hard Kaur against the two prominent leaders in the Indian politics, the investigation of the case has been further sent to the Crime Branch Surveillance Cell.
Hard Kaur is a solo British Asian entertainer and is famous for her rap in Bollywood and who introduced the continent to a new concept. The investigation and the outcome will only unearth the truth behind her claims and the reason for her anger against Yogi Adityanath and Mohan Bhagwat.
