Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha election candidate from East Delhi constituency, Atishi Marlena, made a serious allegation of derogatory misconduct against her Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) counter part, Gautam Gambhir, on Thursday. The 37 year old AAP representative broke down while narrating the misconduct of “defaming” her by Gambhir in her constituency. Atishi alleged that Gambhir has circulated pamphlets with derogatory and casteist remarks against her in the East Delhi Lok Sabha election constituency.

“They have shown how low they can stoop. Pamphlet state that ‘she is a very good example of a mixed breed’,” said Atishi before the reporters in the press conference on Thursday.
The upset AAP candidate broke down, when the deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, who was accompanying Atishi, added that Gambhir has tried to malign Atishi’s image just to win the poll. “Language in this pamphlet, distributed in East Delhi, is so abusive and low that everybody will feel ashamed while reading it. This letter with derogatory remarks is distributed by Gautam Gambhir to make himself win. We never, in our worst dream, had thought that he (Gambhir) would stoop to this low to win polls,” alleged Sisodia in the press conference, quoted ANI.

While the row was discussed in the press conference, Atishi asked a serious question to the cricketer-turned-politician. “I have only one question for Gautam Gambhir. If he is doing against one woman, what about the lacs of women in East Delhi who are worried about their safety,” asked Atishi to Gambhir, quoted ANI.
The AAP supremo as well as Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, also backed her party representative and asked her to stay strong in this fight. “Never imagined Gautam Gambhir to stoop so low. How can women expect safety if people with such mentality are voted in? Atishi, stay strong. I can imagine how difficult it must be for you. It is precisely this kind of forces we have to fight against,” tweeted Arvind Kejriwal after the press conference.

If not, will u quit politics?,” asked Gambhir while attacking Kejriwal and Atishi.

The 37 year old former Indian cricket team batsman, Gautam Gambhir, also threatened of filing a defamation suit against Atishi for defaming him. “I will definitely file a defamation suit against them. You cannot tarnish someone’s image just like that if you don’t have the proof. I have never given a negative statement against anyone so far in my election campaigning,” Gambhir told ANI.
